TO ACCESSES BETA TESTERS:
IF YOU ARE RUNNING A BETA COPY OF ACCESSES, RENAME YOUR CURRENT
ACCESSES.INI to ACCESSES.BAK or DELETE YOUR CURRENT ACCESSES.INI
FILE!!! THE INI FILES ARE SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT!
This file lists current bugs/differences when Accesses is running with
the Second Beta Release of Windows 3.1
*********************************************************
TO WINDOWS 3.1 version 2 BETA TESTERS:
#1
The File Manager in Windows 3.1 does not default to the Win.ini extension
when you double click on a document name if the document name is listed in the
new File+Open dialog box as an internal association. Currently, you have to
add each of these extensions in File Manages' associate dialog box.
For example:
To associate Notepad.exe with WIN.INI and to launch this thru Accesses,
select an ini file in File Manager's file list, then add in the
File+Associate dialog box of File Manager:
Accesses.exe notepad.exe
#2
Close Accesses.exe before manually changing the Accesses.ini file using a text
editor. Then reopen Accesses. The new Windows is caching ini files and I have
not found a way, if there is one yet, to flush the cache. Therefore, even when
I tell Accesses to reread the accesses.ini file, even if the file on disk is
newer than the one in cache, Accesses will read the one in memory. Hopefully,
Microsoft will fix this before the final version.
#3
Accesses does not display the proper amount of resource memory available for version
3.1, yet. Windows will be documenting this shortly and I'll have the fix out then.
